Educational technology includes any technology used to better enhance the students learning experience. This could be anything from a projector to students having their very own computer sitting right in front of them. Technology went from being a learning tool that teachers barely worked into their lesson plan to something that I view as a must in the classrooms today. Now and days students have technology at their finger tips. With just a click of a mouse they can research any topic or see different parts of the world without even moving from their seat. With the technological advances of today teachers can not only explain the information but show it as well. They do this through learning modules that combines the lesson in an interactive program designed by the school. I personally have never taught a class but I am a student and my history with technology in schools has been nothing but a positive experience. I like having the lesson plan, the class powerpoints, and the learning modules to review and practice. The only down side to technology in the classrooms is sometime you lose the teacher- student relationship. Some students excel with technology incorporated in the classroom where others aren’t as well equipped with the foresight or knowledge to run a computer. In some cases students can work the equipment but their brains are just set differently than other and learn in different ways. In my opinion technology in classrooms is growing more and more everyday and it helps get information out to students faster than just a normal lesson plan.
